Senior Software Engineer

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer for a short term contract role based in Cork, Ireland.

The Senior Software Engineer has in-depth expert knowledge in systems development, sets the standards for programming tools and techniques and is responsible for the entire software development process. He/she has the skills to develop large and / or complex programs, incl. design, coding and testing. As part of test responsibilities, the Senior Software Engineer defines and creates test cases, coordinate test activities and reports on progress.

Task and responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy and maintain components in next-generation microservice applications.
• Manage individual project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.
• Communicate with internal stakeholders across various business locations.
• Support our functional analysts and testers with their queries.
• Work closely with our development team to migrate on-premise applications to the Cloud.

Mandatory skills and experiences

• University degree or equivalent in a computer-based discipline.
• 3+ years of experience with Golang or equivalent.
• Experience with other languages like Java (Spring boot)/Python
• Experience with MS SQL and PL/SQL.
• Knowledge of integration patterns with other microservices.
• Experience with modern Javascript UI (React JS/Angular JS).
• Understanding of Object database systems such as Mongo.
• Experience with automation tools for building, deployment, testing, and monitoring.
• Experience with the deployment of applications to the Cloud
• Self-motivated and eager to learn new tools and technologies.
• A team player with excellent communication and collaboration skills.
