Our well known financial client is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for a contract assignment in Cork. This is a hybrid role and you will be able to work 20% of the time remotely.

Job Description:

The Senior Software Engineer has in-depth expert knowledge in systems development, sets the standards for programming tools and techniques and is responsible for the entire software development process. He/she has the skills to develop large and / or complex programs, incl. design, coding and testing. As part of test responsibilities, the Senior Software Engineer defines and creates test cases, coordinate test activities and reports on progress.

Task and responsibilities

• Work in a dynamic team with minimal supervision

• Designing automation frameworks, preparing test automation solutions

• Collaborate with teams to strategize and align long-term test automation solutions, including a roadmap, tools, framework, and approach.

• Design Selenium bricks to extend our test automation tool

• Ensure traceability between product requirements, delivered code and test case verification

• Participate directly in the creation, development and execution of automated test cases

• Share best practices and improve processes within and across product teams

• Maintain and extend test coverage along with designing test cases from user stories, creating appropriate tools, utilities, and automation scripts that assist in functional testing and to create test data

Mandatory skills and experiences

• At least 5 years’ experience working in Test Automation

• Proficiency in written and spoken English

• Excellent team spirit and communication skills

• Knowledge of Selenium ,Cucumber/Gherkin and Java programming language

• Exposure to REST API testing and api testing tools like Postman

• Knowledge of project management tool JIRA and test management tool like HP ALM

• Excellent Git skills for working with version control systems like GITHUB

• Hands-on experience in CI/CD process using Jenkins pipeline

• General scripting and SQL development skills

Previous experience of test automation Framework design/solutions,work estimation, scripting of tests, interfacing with subsystems, and running automated tests

• Ability to triage failures, identify root-causes, and define corrective actions / solutions

• Willingness to share ideas, knowledge and experience with team members
