IT Project Manager
I am seeking a senior IT Project Manager for a long term contract assignment with my financial client based in Paris, France. This is a hybrid role, mainly remote working but Consultants need to be on site 30% of the time.
Tasks and Responsibilities of the IT Project Manager
- Adapt PM expertise taking into account the ‘PM2’ flavour of the client’s project management
- Lead and guide the delivery of IT solutions, leading and coordinating technical teams and liaising with project stakeholders and the client’s management
- Ensure that project objectives are achieved within the identified constraints, taking preventive or corrective measures where necessary
- Manage stakeholder expectations
- Create and execute project plans, run daily project stand-up meetings, weekly follow-up meetings, and progress reporting (burndown charts/status report, sprint planning)
- Create and orchestrate the review of governance documents (Business Case, Project Charter, Project Handbook, Project Status/ Progress reports, Project End Report)
- Create and maintain the usual project management artefacts (project plan, risk list, resource consumption, quality plan), and perform the usual activities (stakeholder management, planning, etc.)
- Best ensure project deliverables are delivered within the expected time/budget/quality thresholds
- Ensure the projects deliver artefacts that are compliant with the policies and processes (security, data privacy, IT governance, architecture policy) i.e. requirements/constraints coming from the wider set of stakeholders
- Continuously collaborate with the client to ensure full transparency in particular with regard to resource consumption, risks, and progression against the project plan
Required Skills and Experience of the Project Manager
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science / Information Technology
- A minimum of 6 years experience in the range of the aforementioned responsibilities
- Strong experience in managing complex software projects
- Strong technical background in software engineering, with a solid understanding of software development methodologies, tools, and technologies
- Effective leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills
- High analytical skills, ability to understand the project scope and to communicate with the various project roles (e.g. analysts, developers, designers, architects, etc.)
- Ability to command respect and to create a sense of community amongst the members of the project teams.
- Excellent communication skills: written, verbal, presentation
- Relevant professional qualifications (e.g. PRINCE2, PMI, PM2) are highly desirable
- Relevant knowledge of ITIL v3, COBIT, and CMMI is desirable
- Ability to analyze complex information and generate reports
- Ability to interface effectively with users, and technical staff and to give presentations to senior management
- Organized, methodical, team player, and able to prioritize and delegate workload
- Excellent use of the English language (verbal & written)
