International client based in Brussels is seeking a Business Intelligence Expert to join the team on a hybrid working contract assignment. This contract is long-term. Candidates must live maximum 2 hours driving distance from Brussels. Candidates must be EU citizens for this role.
Key tasks and responsibilities:
- Design, development, and maintenance of Enterprise Data Warehouses (EDW) and advanced Business Intelligence (BI) solutions, including Data Lakes and Data Lakehouses
- Architecture design for cloud-based, on-premises, and hybrid environments
- Collection and analysis of business requirements to guide data solution design
- Design and implementation of ETL processes for data extraction, transformation, and loading
- Implementation of data virtualization techniques for unified data access across systems
- Logical and physical data modeling to support analytics, reporting, and operational efficiency
- Database design and performance tuning to ensure reliability and scalability
- Development of reporting applications and dashboards tailored to business needs
- Design of data quality controls and system health monitoring processes
- Creation of testing strategies, including test program development and test data generation
- Authoring of technical documentation to support system development and maintenance
- Support for deployment and configuration activities during system rollout
- Active participation in project and cross-functional team meetings
- Definition and maintenance of data architecture frameworks, standards, and best practices
Required skills and experience:
- Hold a Master’s degree
- Minimum 13 years of experience in IT.
- At least 5 years of experience with development tools, such as Oracle SQL Developer.
- Minimum 5 years of experience with relational database systems with SQL, Oracle, and PL/SQL.
- No less than 5 years of experience in database architecture and release management.
- At least 5 years of experience working with Agile methodologies.
- Excellent knowledge of data warehouse design & architecture, data lake, data lakehouse design & architecture.
- Great understanding of relational database systems in the context of data warehousing.
- Familiarity with non-relational (NoSQL) database technologies such as Elasticsearch, MongoDB.
- Excellent proficiency in BI reporting tools.
- Strong knowledge of ETL tools for data extraction, transformation, and loading.
- Excellent command of data modeling tools.
- Strong expertise in OLAP (Online Analytical Processing) and data mining tools.
- Familiarity with near real-time data warehousing and change data capture (CDC) technologies.
- Experience with DevOps practices and tools related to data pipelines, including CI/CD for data infrastructure.
- Proficiency in English language at a minimum B2 level.
- Proficiency in French language at a minimum B1 level.
