Software Developer Engineer in Test  ( SDET )

My client seeks an experienced Software Developer engineer in test to join the team. This is a Hybrid working role so you may need to occasionally have onsite visits at the client’s offices in Kent. Duration is expected to be 6 months with option to go perm afterwards.

 

Role description

 As an SDET on the team, you will be focused on exploratory testing and implementing our automated testing framework. Your responsibilities will include writing exploratory and automated tests and focusing on the testability, robustness, and performance of newly implemented and integrated product updates:

  • Work collaboratively with the team to create and maintain an automated ‘build and test’ process.
  • Writing robust and reusable test components that are used by multiple internal teams
  • Use quality best practices and programming skills to explore, drive, and implement test automation solutions and testing tools.
  • Analyse and troubleshoot production issues by automating and reproducing them in a non-production environment.
  • Plan, create, and implement strategies/solutions for feature validations and test automation.
  • Collaborate and mentor team members on testing tools and test techniques
  • Assist in creating and implementing a QA automation roadmap
  • Maintain product quality by enforcing quality assurance policies and procedures

 

We are hoping you’ll bring: 

  • Proven experience and comfortability programming in C#
  • Understanding of Object-Oriented Programming
  • Experience with Selenium; specifically using Selenium directly as opposed to a wrapper framework like Cypress; using Selenium for Dynamic Web Applications (or SPA)
  • Experience with Test Driven Development (TDD)
  • Experience with a unit test framework, NUnit or XUnit
  • Experience reviewing code, we do a lot of paired coding here and are always actively reviewing the work our team is doing.
  • A desire and passion for working in a collaborative feedback-driven environment.
  • An excitement about accessibility and ensuring our code is accessible as possible.

It’s a bonus if you have: 

  • Experience with Behaviour Driven Development (BDD)
  • Experience working with Cloud Architecture (ideally Azure/AWS)
  • CI/CD tooling experience, Azure Devops would be great!
